Call for Pre-Symposium
The Pre-Symposium, an event that precedes the main scientific meeting held since the seventh edition of the SVR that happened in São Paulo in 2004, aims at presenting an overview of the Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR): concepts, main characteristics of the VR and AR systems, technologies (hardware and software) and applications, as well as innovation trends using VR and AR, related to Internet of Things, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, among others. Thus, those who attend the PS, particularly students and professionals from other areas who are getting started with VR and AR technologies, will be able to take better advantage of the courses, lectures and other activities of the SVR.
A book on the fundamentals of VR and AR, a collaborative effort, coordinated and edited by the organizers of the Pre-Symposium since 2017, with the help of invited volunteer authors, will be updated. The book can be accessed here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_frL7Hwmj75FLFCwwmsZYoEMG0CmRdwD/view. Some authors will be chosen among professionals with recognized competence and knowledge in the area to update this book. This book can become a reference for introductory studies in VR and AR.
Would you like to collaborate with innovation trends using VR and AR?
If you would like to collaborate with the elaboration of this book, adding a new chapter, and have experience in the use of VR and AR in other areas, such as Internet of Things, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, among others, send a proposal to the email eunice@ufmt.br and/or clebergimenez@utfpr.edu.br.
The proposal should be a single text file with the following information: the chapter title, authors (names and affiliations), abstract (150 – 300 words) and a brief description of the contents.
If the proposal is accepted, a chapter should be written following the SBC Book Chapter template for camera-ready text: SBC Book Template. The final version of the chapter must be submitted with the SBC Copyright Form.
Each accepted proposal must have one registered author with an Other Track Paper Registration Fee in order to be included in the book. At this time there is no provision of financial support to cover the expenses of the authors of selected Pre-Symposium proposals.
